Brooklyn's Outdoor Archery Range

Love archery in NYC but hate being indoors on a beautiful sunny day? Us too. The solution? Head to Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field outdoor archery range. This spot is secluded but super peaceful with targets out around 80-90 yards. You are able to set up your own personal targets as long as you take them with you on your way out. The crowd is super friendly and welcoming open to all ages.

The archery range is part of Gateway’s National Recreation Area so a permit is required to shoot and park your car on the site. (Use of the range is permitted if you have camping reservation though). Can be found here (https://www.nps.gov/gate/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm) The permit is $50 for the entire year ( unbeatable price in NYC for Archery). You do need to bring your own gear (bow, arrows, arm guard). Although, there may or may not be some friendly locals who may or may not keep some extra gear in the trunk of their car for a small fee on the weekends. I mean this is Brooklyn after all. None the less this place is cool and worth checking out for yourself.

“The Floyd Bennett Field Archery Range is an outdoor range with 8-10 targets set at various distances and a covered platform from which to shoot. Use of this range is permitted with your camping reservation. Crossbows and hunting tips are prohibited. The range is accessible to persons with disabilities.”-NPS
