Cunningham Park Mountain Bike Trails
Cunningham Park may have been known for America’s first highway made for cars but its North Woods trail system is built just for mountain bikes. Providing eight miles of single track riding and 50 feet of elevation change this park has it all for riders ranging from absolute beginners to skilled XCers in search of a challenge. The trails range from super fast XC, cramped and/or generous switchbacks, technical single track, rolling rock gardens and crazy log-overs.
There is a center trail that is marked green (easy) for beginners that is mostly smooth and wide, so if your looking to try this sport out this a great place. The clover leaf outskirt trials feature fast and fun singletrack rated blue for medium and black for hard. There are a few pump tracks that can be found amongst the trails as well that offer some fun riding.
Big shout out to groups like C-L-I-M-B and MTBNYC for keeping this bike park in great condition. We seen little to no trash and the trails are well marked and maintained, in NYC thats a feat like no other.
This park tucked away in queens just may be the best urban mountain biking park in the city so take the time to get outdoors and have some fun close to home.
Note: There is a bike shop 20mins away from Cunningham Park that makes sells, repairs and rents mountain bikes for a very fair price - Peaks Bike Shop ( Due to Covid-19, rentals have been paused)
