NYRR Open Runs | Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6

Larry Sillen & @nyrr for taking some amazing shots and sharing them.

Did you know the New York Road Runners host free weekly runs and walks in 19 parks around the city? These runs are open to everyone, kids, friends, families and even your dog. NYRR tracks your time, keeps count of your runs and offers fun incentives to join them on future outings around the city. So grab your running sneakers and get outdoors, we’ll see you there!

We joined a 5k (3.2mile) run at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn, NY. Check in time was 6:45, run started at 7p. It is recommended to sign up online before heading to the event but worst case if you just show up you can sign up there ( First time runner waiver). We loved the strong sense of community, volunteers cheered us on NYRR was motivating and kept track of hour time which was later sent in a email.
