Paerdegat Basin Park | Micro Hike
Paerdegat Basin Park in Brooklyn, NY is a coastal forest that offers two micro trails along the basin. The Blue and Red trail winds it’s way along 0.3 miles of flat sandy terrain that is easy to navigate due to the well marked trees. The trails are side by side so it is easy to combine them to make one long loop trail. There is a small view of the basin along the blue trail (although you do have to take a few steps off trail) , a fallen tree along the way and an abandoned air hockey table just incase you forget your in Brooklyn.
This hike is great for beginners.
Note: There is a lot of litter along this trail (we had a little trash bag that we take with us and helped pick some up before shooting out, any bit helps right? =)
Also near by is Ecology Park which doesn’t open until June 1 but will be worth a little stop in come summer.
