Hiking - Pelham Bay Park
Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx is NYC’s largest park, in fact 3 times larger than Manhattans Central Park. So it’s no surprise that there are some pretty sweet hiking trails to be found. Pelham Bay is home to The Hunter Island/ Kazimiroff Loop Trail- an easy 1.8 mile loop that has quite the scenic view. Much of Hunter Island’s natural features are found along the Kazimiroff Nature Trail and the land holds the largest continuous oak forest in Pelham Bay Park. This trail is good for walks and light trail runs. Go on the right day (most week days) and you will have this place all to yourself. Mosquitoes do pick up in the later summer months so do bring bug spray!
